Maybe you’ve heard of her adventures through the Squeaky Clean Mystery Series. She’s been compared to Stephanie Plum—only clean. But now she needs your help in order to survive into book three.
Enter the drawing for a chance to get your hands on the bag of evidence. Examine it. Tell your friends. The more you spread the word about the Squeaky Clean Series, the longer Gabby will live to stick her nose into more police business.
The evidence grab bag includes:
• Hazardous Duty by Christy Barritt
• Suspicious Minds by Christy Barritt
• An actual evidence bag
• A musical Elvis Christmas ornament
• Crime scene band aids
• A hankie, in honor of the King of Rock n’ Roll
• 2 Hershey chocolate bars
Q: Where did you get the idea for the Squeaky Clean Series?
A: I was writing for another publication which profiled people in different careers. One of those careers was a crime scene cleaner. Up until that point, I had no idea that crime scene cleaners even existed. But I immediately knew that would be a great career for a mystery novel protagonist. I began doing some research and, shortly after, I'd drafted a proposal for Hazardous Duty. And, in case you're wondering, no, I could never be a crime scene cleaner. I'm way too squeamish!
I'll post more questions from readers in the near future!
I know everyone's heard about how bad the economy is right now. Every time you turn on the news, it's practically all the media is talking about (well, that and they're gushing over Obama, but that's an entirely different post!). The economy has also been hard on the publishing industry. Many authors I know are struggling right now. They've had their contracts canceled or delayed, their sales numbers are dreadful or they've had trouble obtaining new contracts for various other reasons. Publishers aren't taking the same risks that did at one time and authors are feeling the pinch. If you enjoy reading a certain author, please consider purchasing a copy of their books. A book is a relatively cheap form of entertainment and will last longer than a movie. They're a great escape from the demands of life and a great stress reliever through these recession woes. I just want to encourage everyone: if you've been thinking about picking up a book, this is the time to do it!
Deborah, the fabulous blogger and reviewer at Books, Movies and Chinese Food stopped by my book signing at the Harvest Co. on Thanksgiving weekend. Here's a picture of her with me and fellow author Yvonne Ortega.

By the way, my book is number eight this month on the Harvest Co.'s bestsellers list! Yay! I finally made a bestseller list. LOL!
